The connection
The value is in the reading journey: turning text into navigable audio, remembering a place and making interruptions inexpensive. Synthetic narration is one component of that product.
System design
The following structure makes the project concept inspectable and defines the implementation to demonstrate.
What would prove it
Read and listen through a chapter while pausing, changing network conditions and reopening the application. Verify that the same segment identifiers retain the correct text and playback position.
The next complete milestone
A useful release milestone includes long-session playback, transparent generation delays, accessible navigation and verified rights for each source text. Offline behaviour should be described in terms of what has actually been cached.
